WHALE GETAWAY
2-3 DAY TRIPS FROM NYC AREA
TO THE BEST WHALE WATCHING SPOT ON THE EAST COAST
THE ULTIMATE VACATION

Turks and Caicos is a tropical Atlantic archipelago that’s located 575 miles southeast of Miami, Florida, and 75 miles north of the Dominican Republic. The country is a British Overseas Territory with a population of 44,543 spread over nine inhabited islands.

The main claim to fame for the Turks and Caicos are spectacular beaches and crystal-clear ocean water, which are crowned by the world-renowned seven-mile-long Grace Bay Beach on Providenciales.

The Turks and Caicos is also acclaimed for its exceptional scuba diving and is home to one of the finest barrier reef systems in the Atlantic Ocean.

In the winter humpback whales from the East coast migrate to the Caribbean waters to give birth and raise their young. Grand Turk is a unique place where we can witness this process as whales like to spend time in the shallow waters. We will try to swim with them if they feel comfortable with our presence. Interaction is on their terms.

Turks and Caicos are also home to the famous dolphin JoJo. He voluntarily interacts with humans since 1981.

We will take a morning flight to the small island of Grand Turk, where we will be looking for humpback whales in the afternoon and for the next 3 days.

Grand Turk is famous for being the third-largest coral reef in the world, which makes it one of the best spots for scuba diving. If you are a certified diver – we can join a local dive shop to explore the underwater world and enjoy reef fish, sharks and rays. On special occasions, dolphins and whales can show up as well.

*Diving cost is not included in the tour – 115$ for 2 dives + 12% tax

If you are not a certified diver – a local dive trainer can give you a lesson and take you on a shallow dive. *Diving cost is not included in the tour: 200$ + 12% tax

You can go snorkeling and explore the reef right from the beach too.

On one of the days, we will go to the famous Gibbs Cay, also known as Stingray City, to enjoy stingrays in their natural habitat.

The island is very small ( 6.9 sq mi) and has a population of 5000 people. There aren’t many tourists unless the cruise ship is in the port for the day allowing you to enjoy this small and unique island. There are several good places to dine that we will visit during our stay.

DAY 8 (February 20th)

We will leave Grant Turk island and take a short flight back to Providenciales from where you will travel home.
